[Part Time] Lead Basketball Coach

Lacombe, Sylvan Lake & Red Deer | $25–$35/hr (Higher for Travel Team Coaches) | 3–12 hrs/week
Central Alberta Sports Club (CASC) is seeking energetic, positive, and reliable Lead Basketball Coaches to help teach and inspire young athletes. If you’re passionate about youth development, basketball fundamentals, and creating a positive team environment — we’d love to have you on board.

Ages You’ll Work With:
Youth aged 7 and up, including beginner and intermediate players. Being able to work with advanced players is a plus.

What You’ll Do:
-Teach the fundamentals of basketball: dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense
-Lead engaging and structured practices and gameplay sessions
-Create a safe, inclusive, and fun learning environment
-Promote teamwork, confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship
-Coach and manage groups of up to 30 athletes in a gym setting.
-Collaborate with CASC staff to ensure high-quality program delivery
-Option to coach competitive travel teams (additional responsibilities and compensation)

Schedule:
-3 to 12 hours per week, depending on season and availability
-Evening sessions, typically lasting 1.5 to 3 hours
-Sessions may occur multiple times per week

Locations:
-Lacombe
-Sylvan Lake
-Red Deer
-Must be able to reliably travel to one or more of these locations.

Start Date:
Start date pending – schedules will be confirmed based on registration and seasonal program timelines.

Requirements:
-Experience playing or coaching basketball (youth coaching preferred)
-Ability to lead and manage a gym of up to 30 kids independently
-Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
-Must be reliable, responsible, and encouraging with youth
-Must have your own vehicle and valid driver’s license-
-Willingness to provide a vulnerable sector check (if over 18)
-Higher pay available for coaches willing and able to take on travel team leadership roles

Bonus If You Have:
-NCCP or other coaching certifications (not required, but an asset)
-First Aid/CPR certification
-Experience coaching competitive youth teams or running tournaments

[Part Time] Lead Soccer Coach

[Part Time] Lead Volleyball Coach

Lacombe, Sylvan Lake & Red Deer | $25-$35/hr | Ages 9–15 | Up to 24 athletes per session
Central Alberta Sports Club (CASC) is seeking an experienced and confident Lead Volleyball Coach to help lead our youth volleyball programming across Central Alberta. This role is ideal for someone passionate about developing athletes, creating an engaging training environment, and taking on a leadership role within our coaching team.

Ages You’ll Work With:
Youth aged 9 to 15, ranging from beginner to intermediate levels. Bonus if applicant can work with more advanced players,  ages 16 and 17 as well.

What You’ll Do:
-Lead structured volleyball practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and game play
-Coach and manage sessions of up to 24 players in a gym or outdoor grass setting
-Adjust drills and techniques based on age and skill level
-Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment for all players
-Supervise and mentor assistant coaches (if present)
-Option to take part in tournament coaching and special events

Schedule:
-Evening sessions, typically two back to back training sessions totaling in 3 hours in length
-Up to multiple sessions per week, depending on season and availability
-6–12 hours/week with potential for more during tournaments

-Must be able to reliably travel to one or more of these locations.

Requirements:
-Strong experience in playing and/or coaching volleyball
-Proven ability to manage and coach large groups (up to 24 athletes)
-Confident in running independent training sessions with minimal supervision
-Great communication, leadership, and organizational skills
-Comfortable coaching in both indoor and outdoor environments
-Must have your own vehicle and valid driver’s license
-Vulnerable sector check required (if over 18)

Bonus If You Have:
-NCCP Volleyball or other coaching certifications (not required, but an asset)
-First Aid/CPR certification
-Experience working with multi-level teams or leading development programs
-Tournament or league coaching experience

Central Alberta Sports Club (CASC) is seeking a motivated and experienced Soccer Coach & Program Coordinator to help shape and grow our youth soccer programming. This is a hybrid role combining on-field coaching with behind-the-scenes planning—perfect for someone who wants to play a leadership role in growing community-based sport in Central Alberta.

What You’ll Do:
-Coach and lead sessions for youth aged 8 and up
-Organize and structure age-appropriate training plans and seasonal programs
-Develop game-play formats, skill progression pathways, and development goals
-Propose and help coordinate tournaments, community events, and special sessions
-Mentor assistant coaches and support volunteer engagement
-Work closely with CASC admin (who manage registration, communications, and operations)
-Identify and recommend strategies to grow participation and improve program quality
-Ensure alignment with best practices and CASA guidelines
-Work closely with CASC administrative staff to expand and improve the soccer program.

Schedule:
-3–12 hours/week of on-field coaching
-5–10 hours/week of program coordination and planning
-Evening and weekend availability required for practices and events

What You’ll Do:
-Lead and coordinate the growth of basketball program for ages 8 and up
-Design and structure seasonal training programs and skill development models
-Establish and oversee local and travel team pathways
-Propose and coordinate events, tournaments, and potentially a local basketball league, similar to our successful volleyball model
-Work closely with CASC admin staff, who will manage registration and logistics
-Be available to coach or support on-court sessions when needed
-Ensure all programming aligns with Canada Basketball and Alberta Basketball Association rules, policies, and travel procedures

Schedule:
-3–12 hours/week of coaching, as needed
-5+ hours/week of program planning and coordination
-May increase to 20+ hours/week during busy seasons

Central Alberta Sports Club (CASC) is looking for a creative and reliable Social Media Manager to help us capture and share the energy of our programs online. This is a retainer-based position, ideal for students or part-time creatives looking to build experience while making a meaningful impact in local youth sports.

What You’ll Do:
-Visit CASC events, practices, and tournaments to take photos and videos
-Edit and create engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms
-Write clear, fun, and professional captions that reflect CASC’s voice
Post consistently and on time based on a set schedule
-Work with CASC leadership to plan content around programs and events
-Track post performance and stay aligned with branding and goals

Requirements:
-A creative eye and comfort with capturing live action content (using your phone or camera)
-Experience with social platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Canva or CapCut
-Ability to edit short videos, photos, and reels
-Self-motivated and able to hit content deadlines
-Transportation to visit local gyms and fields in Lacombe, Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, etc.
-Great communication skills and a passion for youth sports
